1. Who this is for, and what it isn't

These are the terms for using www.libt.co.uk. They apply to anyone browsing the site, whether or not you've ever applied to LIBT.

This is not the same document as the Student Contract and Terms and Conditions. If you apply to or enrol with LIBT, that document, not this one, governs your fees, your programme, and your relationship with LIBT as a student. These website terms stop applying to that relationship the moment a more specific agreement, like the Student Contract, takes over. Read this page for how the website itself may be used; read the Student Contract for anything about actually studying with LIBT.

3. Using this website

You can browse this website, and use its forms, chat, and application tools, for their intended purpose: finding out about LIBT and its courses, getting in touch, and applying. You must not:

• try to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its systems;
• use the website to distribute malware, spam, or anything unlawful;
• scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the website using automated tools, without our written permission;
• impersonate another person, or LIBT itself, anywhere on the website; or
• disrupt the website's normal operation, for example by overloading it or interfering with another visitor's use of it.

We can restrict or withdraw your access to the website, without notice, if we reasonably believe you've breached this section.

4. Intellectual property

The website itself, its design, and its content, including text, course descriptions, logos, and images, belong to LIBT or to the party that licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, or use any of it commercially without our written permission.

Nothing on this website transfers any intellectual property right to you.

5. Accuracy of website content

We keep this website as accurate and up to date as we reasonably can, but it's provided for general information. Course content, fees, entry requirements, and delivery arrangements described on the website are confirmed properly during the application process, in the Student Contract and the relevant programme specification, not by the website content alone. Where the website and a document you've been given directly (for example, an offer letter or the Student Contract) disagree, the document given to you directly takes priority.

6. Links to other websites

This website may link to websites we don't control, for example a partner university, an Awarding Body, or a payment provider. We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of a website we don't control, and a link doesn't mean we endorse everything on it.

7. Liability

We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, we don't accept liability for a loss arising from your use of the website, including a loss caused by the website being unavailable or containing an error, to the fullest extent the law allows.

How we handle personal data collected through this website, and the cookies this website uses, are covered in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, not repeated here.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a change in the law or in how the website works. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continuing to use the website after an update means you accept the current version.

10. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the law of the Isle of Man, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts.
