1. Who this policy is for

This is a plain-language guide to how London Institute of Business & Technology Limited (LIBT) handles personal data collected through www.libt.co.uk, whether you're browsing the site, filling in a form, or applying for a course. It applies to visitors, applicants, students, and anyone else who gives us personal data through this website.

This policy doesn't repeat what those two already cover in full; it's the short version for a website visitor.

2. Who we are

LIBT is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

3. What personal data we collect

Depending on what you do on the website, we may collect:

• Contact and enquiry details you give us through a contact form, an enquiry form, or a live chat conversation, for example your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
• Application details if you apply for a course, for example your education history, identification documents, and any supporting evidence you upload.
• Payment details if you pay a fee through the website. We don't store your card details ourselves; these are handled directly by our payment provider, Stripe.
• Newsletter and marketing preferences, if you sign up to hear from us, including whether you've opted in or out.
• Technical and usage data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, for example your browser type, pages viewed, and how you found the site. See the Cookie Policy for the full list of tools this covers and how to manage your preferences.

We don't collect more than we need for the purpose you're using the website for.

4. How we use your personal data, and why we're allowed to

5. Who we share your personal data with

We share personal data only where it's needed for the purposes above, and only with:

• Stripe, to process a payment, if you make one through the website.
• HubSpot, which we use to manage marketing communications and enquiries.
• Analytics and advertising tools listed in the Cookie Policy, but only where you've given consent for that category of cookie.
• Awarding bodies and accrediting bodies (for example QUALIFI or CMI), where this is necessary to process an application or maintain your academic record.
• A regulator or public authority, where LIBT is legally required to disclose information to them.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes without asking you first.

6. Where your data is held and international transfers

Some of the tools and providers named in this policy and the Cookie Policy may store or process data outside the Isle of Man. Where that happens, we only use a provider that has an adequacy decision recognised under EU GDPR, or another recognised safeguard such as Standard Contractual Clauses. 7. How long we keep your data

How long we keep personal data depends on why we collected it. As a general guide:

• An enquiry that doesn't lead to an application is kept only as long as needed to answer it, and then deleted within a reasonable period.
• Application and student records are kept for as long as you're a student with us, and afterwards in line with Awarding Body requirements, normally up to 6 years.
• Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.

8. Your rights, and how to use them

You have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
• ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate;
• ask us to delete your data, where there's no continuing reason for us to keep it;
• ask us to restrict how we use your data while a query is resolved;
• ask for your data in a portable format, where that's technically feasible;
• object to us using your data for our legitimate interests; and
• withdraw consent at any time, for anything we do on the basis of your consent, for example marketing emails or non-essential cookies.

There's no fee for a standard request. Write to the Academic Registry, using the contact details below, and we'll respond within 30 calendar days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Isle of Man's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner (Isle of Man). We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you do.

9. Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. You're asked for your preference the first time you visit, and you can change your mind at any time. For the full list of tools we use and what each one does, see the Cookie Policy.

10. Children's data

LIBT's courses are for adult learners. We don't knowingly collect personal data through this website from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact the Academic Registry and we'll delete it.

We review this policy annually, and sooner if what we collect or share changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
