Module 1: Learning Management - 40 credits
Consists of 3 assessment areas:
Module 2: Work-Based Project - 40 credits
This project entails students taking the lead in both conceptualising and executing a task during their work tenure. Their responsibilities include defining the project scope and delivering a comprehensive written report upon completion.
Module 3: Project Management (PMUG) - 20 credits
This module aims to provide students with an overview of project management. It aims to facilitate the development of skills and understanding necessary for managing large projects. Students can explore and evaluate a wide range of project management concepts, tools, techniques, and processes employed throughout the project management lifecycle. The effectiveness of individuals and groups in the project, as well as the importance of communicating clearly and effectively the status of projects in various forms to different stakeholders, is reflected upon. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to develop a critical awareness of the limitations of people, tools, and methods in project management.
Module 4: Organisations and their people (OAP) - 20 credits
This module aims to develop an understanding and appreciation of how an organisation and its people function and how they can achieve their goals and improve their performance. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of key organisational and management theories, principles, and practices before considering how an organisation and its people function and how they can achieve their goals and improve performance. Students will consider the role of individuals and teams and how their behaviour can be motivated and influenced. Students will have the opportunity to explore the effectiveness of leadership and the management of culture and change and consider the different needs of business relationships and effective communication.
