Programme Overview

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a professional doctoral programme delivered by the London Institute of Business and Technology (LIBT) in academic collaboration with Acacia University, a U.S.-based institution accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The Distance Education Accrediting Commission is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Acacia University filed with Arizona’s Secretary of State and applied for a degree-granting license in the State of Arizona in September 2007. Approval was granted on February 28, 2008. This international partnership provides experienced professionals with a rigorous and practice-oriented doctoral pathway that integrates global academic standards with applied business relevance.
Designed for senior leaders, executives, and advanced practitioners, the DBA enables candidates to address complex challenges in contemporary business environments through applied research and strategic inquiry. The programme emphasises critical areas such as organisational leadership, global strategy, innovation management, financial performance, and research methodology.
Students follow a structured academic pathway that includes foundational modules, IRB-approved research ethics training, doctoral seminars, and a dissertation based on original empirical investigation. All coursework and research components are delivered online, combining flexible access with personalised academic support.
The primary objective of the programme is to prepare candidates to become scholar-practitioners—leaders who apply rigorous research to real-world problems, inform policy, drive innovation, and shape strategic outcomes within their organisations and industries. Graduates of the DBA programme will be equipped to lead transformative change, contribute to the academic and professional body of knowledge, and engage with complex decision-making at the highest level.

Accredited by Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
LIBT Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), which means you can apply for Chartered Manager through Fast-track status on completion of your studies. The students will also receive a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practise.

In Critical Thinking in Doctoral Research, students are assessed through structured article critiques and book reviews, applying critical thinking and research evaluation techniques. The emphasis is on evaluating study design, methodology, and research findings, with activities encouraging reflection, synthesis, and analytical writing.
In Dissertation 1, assessment focuses on the formulation and defence of a research proposal. Students are guided through identifying a research problem, reviewing literature, defining methodology, and producing a fully developed dissertation proposal, which is presented for formal evaluation.
In Dissertation 2, students move into the final stages of the doctoral thesis, including Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, data collection, analysis, manuscript writing, and an oral defence. Assessment culminates in the submission of a completed dissertation and a successful viva voce examination. Across modules, grading prioritises clarity, academic integrity, adherence to APA formatting, and the demonstration of advanced critical, analytical, and writing skills.

Acacia University, Arizona, US, stands as a symbol of regeneration, perseverance, and integrity and is on a mission to make learning a long-lasting, invigorating experience.
Acacia’s origin dates back to 2003 when Educational Cyberconnections, Inc. began a partnership with the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) to provide onsite training to CITA schools in Egypt, Pakistan, United Emirates, and China.
This training created a demand for additional and continuing training that resulted in establishing an onsite and online program under the title of CITA Teacher Certification Program.
Then in 2005, Power-Ed and CITA developed and delivered a web-based curriculum (24 credits) that could be delivered via the Internet throughout the world. The school became the American Graduate School of Education and the name change to Acacia University was approved by the State Board for Private Postsecondary Education – State of Arizona on May 11, 2012, effective June 1, 2011.
