Programme Overview

The BA (Hons) Management degree will give you a solid foundation in business and management theory, as well as the opportunity to develop the practical skills and analytical techniques used in different sectors. Graduate and you’ll be more than ready for the professional workplace and the challenges of the business world. During the course you’ll study and practise all the main areas of management, including human resources, marketing, accounting and finance, and information management. Modules on contemporary issues such as globalisation, sustainability and social and demographic change will put it all into context – as will content looking at commercial strategy and behaviour.

You can personalise your studies with a wide range of specialist modules, so there’s every opportunity to prepare for a specific industry sector, job or profession. Key figures from international industry and business advise us on course content – so you can be certain you’re gaining the skills employers expect. At present this programme is only delivered as an online programme, across a period of 12 months.



Course Content

Level 4 Modules

BUS401 - Communications in Organisations ( 20 Credits )

Communication is the key to effective operations and working effectively with others. Throughout this module, learners will grasp a range of communication techniques used for a variety of commercial purposes.

BUS402 - Leadership and the Organisation (20 Credits)

To look at the important function of management which helps to maximize efficiency and to achieve organizational goals.

BUS403 - Financial Awareness (20 Credits)

In this module, learners will compare and contrast some examples of good and bad financial decision making and the impact on the business.

BUS404 - Managing Change (20 Credits)

To provide the learner with an understanding of the key concepts of managing change and knowledge in a business setting.

BUS405 - Business Operations (20 Credits)

This module looks at the administration of business practices to create the highest level of efficiency possible within an organization.

BUS406 - Developing Teams (20 Credits)

This module aims to develop project management skills for a work-based team project by implementing the different stages of project development, implementation and review.

Level 5 Modules

BUS501 - Customer Management (20 Credits)

This module looks on the systems, processes and applications needed to manage the customer relationship.

BUS502 - Business Development (20 Credits)

This module focuses on the creation of long-term value for an organization from customers, markets, and relationships.

BUS503 - Effective Decision Making (20 Credits)

Learners will complete exercises in effective decision making throughout this module to equip with the right skills to make good decisions as the leaders.

BUS504 - Responding to the Changing Business Environment (20 Credits)

The aim of this module is to enable learners to understand the range of performance measures needed to analyse and determine business environment, and the change processes that can then be used to improve organisational performance.

BUS505 - Risk Management and Organisations (20 Credits)

This module focuses on the process of identifying, assessing and controlling threats to an organization's capital and earnings and to prepare for the unexpected by minimizing risks and extra costs before they happen.

BUS506 - Business Models and Growing Organisations (20 Credits)

This module looks at the business models to create the growth of the organisatons and rationalizing of how organisations create, deliver, and capture values, in economic, social, cultural or other contexts.

Final Year Modules

Strategic Management (30 Credits)

This module addresses strategy and examines an organisation within its strategic and competitive context. It consists of one 1500-word assignment, and one 4500-word assignment.

Work Based Major Project (30 Credits)

This module enables you to build on your learning throughout the course to carry out an in-depth project dealing with an issue that is relevant to you and your work. This module is assessed via a 3000-word proposal, plus 12000 word project.

Work Based Project Impact and Review (30 Credits)

Having completed your project, you will assess its impact, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your recommendations and gather feedback from colleagues, peers and academics. This is a 6000-word assignment.

Reflections on Practice and Career Progression (30 Credits)

In this final module, you will assess your progress through the course, evaluate your practical and leadership skills and plan your future personal and career development. This is a 3000-word assignment.



Entry Requirements

Entry to Level 4 Diploma in Business Management

Learners who have demonstrated some ability and possess qualifications at Level 3 or high school equivalent award

Should be at least 18 years old

Entry to Level 5 Diploma in Business Management

Completion of Level 4



Assessment is through coursework.



Course Duration

The full course can be completed in 18 to 24 months.



Recognition of Prior Learning is the recognition of non-certified learning towards a full unit or a qualification. You are able to gain credits using your previous regulated or unregulated qualifications or work experience. You can submit your CV for an evaluation of the RPL eligibility here.
