Artificial intelligence is reshaping every sector of the economy, and the law is racing to keep up. From the EU AI Act to questions of algorithmic liability, AI-generated copyright and automated decision-making under GDPR, the legal landscape around AI is evolving faster than most organisations can track. Professionals who can navigate this landscape with legal clarity are among the most sought-after in the current market.

Participants will examine the legal implications of AI technologies across liability, privacy, intellectual property and ethics, explore how AI is transforming legal practice and court procedures, and develop structured approaches to AI governance and regulatory compliance. The course addresses the most significant current and emerging legal frameworks governing AI, including the EU AI Act, UK AI White Paper, GDPR Article 22 on automated decision-making and the OECD AI Principles, equipping participants to advise their organisations with confidence and precision.

This course is derived from LIBT's Extended Diploma in Law. Participants who complete this certificate and wish to gain academic credit may submit the module assignment through LIBT's academic pathway. Completing the full diploma provides direct entry into the final year of an undergraduate law degree at one of LIBT's university partners.
