Distinguished academic, researcher & industry expert Dr. Nandana Mihindukulasooriya recently joined the Board of the London Institute of Business & Technology (LIBT). He is a Postdoctoral Researcher at MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, Cambridge, USA. 

Dr. Mihindukulasooriya holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain & his research interests include Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR), Semantic Web, Linked Data, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka), Dr. Mihindukulasooriya completed his European Master on Software Engineering (EMSE) double-degree at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (Sweden) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) under Erasmus Mundus scholarship from European Union.

Before pursuing his higher education, Dr. Mihindukulasooriya worked as a Technical Lead at WSO2 Inc & contributed to the design & implementation of several landmark projects including WSO2 Web Application Server, WSO2 Carbon (an OSGi-based Enterprise Middleware Platform), WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus & WSO2 Identity Server for which he was felicitated in 2008 as the ‘Outstanding Contributor of the Year’. 

Dr. Mihidukulasooriya has participated in several European research projects including SEALS (FP7–238975), LIDER (FP7-610782) and 4V (TIN2013-46238). Prior to IBM, he was a member of Ontology Engineering Group, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), renowned for breakthrough innovations in the areas of Ontology Engineering, Linked Data, Data Integration & Semantic Infrastructure. Dr. Mihindukulasooriya currently serves as a Project Management Committee (PMC) member at Apache Axis & Apache Web Services projects of Apache Software Foundation.
