The QUALIFI Level 4/5 Diploma in Education and Training is made up of 20 modules and 156 credits. On completion of the modules, students will be given access to the assignments. In order to complete the course students are required to complete 130 hours of teaching practice.
The Level 4 Qualification provides the essential knowledge and basic understanding of the roles and responsibilities of teaching staff. It attempts to empower trainee teachers to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plans to deliver inclusive teaching and learning, assess learning, and use appropriate resources to support effective learning so that they become aspiring teachers. The optional units cover a wide range of teaching contexts and give skills required to further achieve their opportunities in academics and in career.
Level 4 consists of about 10 modules which takes 6 months to complete and carries 36 credits in total and a learner needs a minimum of 33 credits for the qualification. These consists of 5 mandatory modules and 6 electives. Learners must complete all mandatory units to achieve 21 credits and then choose a minimum of 15 credits from the optional units. The Level 4 modules and assignments of this course are equivalent to the first year of a University Degree. In order to complete the qualification, the student must cover 30 hours of teaching practice in level 4.
Upon the successful completion of the level 4 qualification, the student can proceed to Qualifi Level 5 Diploma academically.
The Level 5 Qualification covers essential knowledge and understanding that teaching staff need in the education and training sectors. It consists of 10 modules and it should take 6 months to complete the level 5 Diploma. The level 5 Diploma carries 120 credits in total. Learners must complete all compulsory units to achieve 75 credits and a minimum of 45 credits from the electives to complete the qualification. In addition to that 100 hours of teaching practice is also compulsory. Upon the successful completion of the level 5 qualification, the student can proceed to Qualifi Level 6 qualification; or can join a university to complete an undergraduate degree academically. The learner is also able to proceed into employment in an associated profession.
The complete programme itself is made up of 10 interactive modules and written assignments, with approximately 40 guided learning hours per module. All modules have an additional 30-50 learning hours of optional materials that comprise of recommended exercises, recommended readings, Internet resources, and self-testing exercises. You will also have access to 24/7 support, tutoring, and a variety of other support mechanisms.
Learners aged 19 and above
Candidates should be qualified, capable or experienced in the subject which they plan. It is expected that applicants have personal skills necessary to complete the academic and other requirements of the programme
Applicants need to demonstrate the possibility to learn at minimum academic level 4 – the same level of study as the first year of a degree
All trainee teachers joining this qualification programme has a prerequisite to undertake an initial evaluation of aptitudes in maths, English and ICT. Their development needs should be recorded and, where applicable, an action plan agreed
This qualification is designed for learners aged 19 and above
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Teaching
Applicants for the Diploma in Education and Teaching need to be qualified and or experienced in the subject which they intend to teach
Applicants need to demonstrate the potential to study at minimum academic Level 5 – the same level of study as the second year of a degree course
To complete the Level 4 & 5 Diploma in Education and Training, it will take 12 months. Every month, the student will be required to complete one assignment.
